COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – The Cougars shot 54 percent from the floor, going 13-of-24, and committed just one turnover in the first half to build a 31-15 lead at the break.
Des Jordan led a balanced scoring effort with 13 points. Jalen Raether, Bubby Entsminger and Talyn Elliott added nine each. Austin Greene and Trevor Jonas scored five apiece. Tucker Phillips grabbed five rebounds, while Kevin Worley dished out a team-high five assists. Colten Jones added five boards, and Entsminger had four assists.
In the jayvee game, Alleghany earned a 51-42 win. Twelve Cougars scored. Buddy Leisure-White and Jackson Rickett had nine points each, and Jaxon Brewster added seven.
