COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – The Alleghany Highlands Regional Library is inviting families to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a creative, hands-on activity that’s sure to send smiles soaring. On this special afternoon, the Children’s Area will transform into a launch pad for imagination as kids design and build their very own rocket-powered Valentines. It’s a playful twist on a classic holiday—perfect for young makers who love crafts, colors, and a little bit of space-age fun.
This free, public event takes place on Thursday, February 12 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the library, located at 406 W. Riverside Street in Covington. Children can drop in anytime during the two-hour window to create a Valentine they can proudly take home and share with someone special. No registration required—just bring your creativity and get ready to blast off into Valentine’s Day with fun, friendship, and plenty of heart.
