COVINGTON, Va. (VA) – Relay For Life of Alleghany will commemorate its 30th anniversary in 2026. Planning is now underway for the milestone event, which celebrates three decades since the first Relay For Life of Alleghany was held in 1996. The initial planning meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Bella Pizza in Clifton Forge. All interested parties are welcome and encouraged to participate.
These planning meetings serve as a forum to determine the event’s theme, discuss entertainment options, recommend games for both children and adults, and propose fundraising strategies. Committee positions are available for team members willing to contribute to this important cause. Your involvement is vital to help organize a successful and enjoyable event in support of cancer research and awareness.
The event will conclude with the Luminaria Ceremony, a moving tribute that honors individuals currently battling cancer and commemorates those who have lost their fight.

Planning meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at Bella Pizza in Clifton Forge at 6:00 PM. Please note that meetings will be canceled if local schools are closed due to inclement weather.
