Winter Weather Update
A potentially strong winter weather event is headed our way Saturday, January 24, 2026, evening through Monday night, January 26, 2026.
The time to prepare is now!
The Virginia Department of Transportation is prepared and will be working to clear the interstate and primary routes first. Travel is strongly discouraged during this weather event. If you must travel, keep supplies in your vehicle in case your vehicle becomes inoperable.
Be prepared for possible power outages.
Be aware of Carbon Monoxide and combustible objects around Heating sources.
Take breaks while clearing debris and snow to prevent overexertion.
Plans have been made to open warming shelters in various areas of the County should the need arise.
