COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Alleghany capped Senior Night with a sweep in Shenandoah District action at Alleghany High School, rolling past Stuarts Draft 63-10 before slipping by Riverheads 41-40. The Cougars improved to 16-1 in dual meets this season.
The Riverheads match came down to the final bout. Needing a pin to avoid a loss, senior heavyweight Ethan Shue came through, sticking Mason Flint in the first period to secure the team victory.
Alleghany set the tone earlier against Draft, pulling away quickly in the 53-point win.
Nick Powell, Dylan Osborne, Hayden Wills, Kylan Tolley, Carter Nicely and Parker Osborne all went 2-0 on the night for Alleghany.
