IMPORTANT TAX NOTICE
CITY OF COVINGTON RESIDENTS
Calendar year 2026 Individual Returns of Tangible Personal Property and Mobile Homes and Business Returns of Tangible Personal Property and Machinery & Tools owned as of January 1, 2026 are due by FEBRUARY 2, 2026 TO AVOID PENALTY. Penalty for failure to file or late filing is 10% of the tax or $10.00 whichever is greater, not to exceed the amount of tax. New residents of the city, who moved here January 1, 2026 or earlier, may obtain forms in the office of the Commissioner of the Revenue, 333 W. Locust St., Covington VA or you may call (540) 965-6350 for assistance.
