Owen Dean Burch
Owen Dean Burch, age 17, of 5017 Rich Patch Road, Covington, Virginia died on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at his residence.
Owen was born on February 20, 2008 in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. He was a senior at Alleghany County High School, where he was a lineman, # 75, for his football team. In addition to football, he enjoyed playing baseball and weightlifting. He loved PS5 gaming.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Cathy Fitzgerald; paternal grandparents, Harold and Sandra Burch; and grandmother, Geraldine Vass.
Owen is survived by his mother and stepfather, Kristin Fitzgerald Vass and Shaun Matt Vass of Covington: his father and stepmother, Matthew Ryan Burch and Sierra Jay Burch of Wisconsin; two sisters, Shelby Faith Vass of Covington and Arielle Burch of Wisconsin; a brother, Sheridan Ryan Burch of Alleghany County; as well as his family of friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Pastor Jeff Wylde and Mr. Chris Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
