CLIFTON FORGE, VA. (VR) — The Clifton Forge Community Gathering invites everyone to come together in gratitude and community spirit at its November Gathering of Thankfulness, to be held on Thursday, November 20, at The Historic Masonic Theatre.
Each November, the Community Gathering Planning Committee hosts a special evening to reflect on a year of progress and to recognize organizations that enrich the lives of local residents. This year’s celebration will highlight two groups that exemplify service, leadership, and community support: Boys Home of Virginia and Scouting America Troop 2.
Laura Costigan, Manager of Donor Relations for Boys Home of Virginia, will share insights into the organization’s mission and programs—helping young men build character, confidence, and futures filled with promise.
Representing Scouting America Troop 2, longtime leaders Bill Parks, Kevin Persinger, and Dominique Washington will discuss the troop’s enduring history, its many community service projects, and its impact on youth development in the Clifton Forge area. In a special moment, attendees will have the opportunity to witness an Eagle Scout Ceremony, celebrating one of the highest achievements in Scouting.
The evening will conclude with a Thankfulness Dessert Reception in the Theatre Underground, offering time for fellowship and conversation.
The Clifton Forge Community Gatherings are held monthly as open forums for citizens, businesses, and organizations to exchange ideas, celebrate progress, and collaborate on ways to make Clifton Forge and the surrounding area a better place to live, work, and play. The November event marks the final Gathering of 2025.
All area residents are warmly invited to attend—no residency in Clifton Forge is required. The Community Gathering initiative works in partnership with the Town of Clifton Forge while remaining citizen-led, offering everyone a voice in shaping the town’s future.
Join your neighbors for an evening of gratitude, inspiration, and community connection.
