COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Come join Curtis A Smith VFW Post 1033 and Auxiliary as they celebrate Veterans Day 2025.
On November 10th at 9:30 AM VFW Post 1033 will participate in Jeter Watson Elementary School’s annual Veterans Day service. We welcome all area veterans to come and be a part of this event and be recognized for your service to our country.
Also, on November 10th, VFW Post 1033 and Auxiliary will conduct a special program at Covington Middle School honoring all veterans and giving a presentation on the origin of the Buddy Poppy. The buddy poppy portion of the program will be presented by students at the middle school. All parents and veterans are welcome to attend.
On November 11th at 11:00 AM, VFW Post 1033 and Auxiliary will honor all local veterans at the Courthouse. We would like to honor all Alleghany Highlands veterans and their families on this special day.
