Statement from AHPS Superintendent Kim Hlateman
This is a follow-up message about the information shared this morning. On the morning of Tuesday, October 28, the administration at Covington Middle School was made aware of a threatening comment that had been shared on social media.
Following an investigation conducted by the Covington Division of Police, an individual is now in custody. At all times, students and staff were safe, and there was no immediate threat to school safety. We are grateful for the prompt response of our law enforcement partners.
At this time, the Covington Division of Police is not releasing any further information about this incident, but anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact them at 540-965-6333.
The safety of our students remains our top priority. Thank you for your attention to this important update.
