COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Gisela Z. Roldan, Covington Interim Treasurer, has announced that she is seeking election in the November 4, 2025, general election. Gisela was appointed by Theresa Harrison (former Treasurer) to the interim position prior to her retirement at the end of last year and began her duties on January 1, 2025.
Gisela began her career with the City of Covington in the Citizen’s Services Department in 2022 and transferred over to the Buildings & Grounds Department the following year where she worked as the Administrative Assistant/Permit Technician to the Building Official.
Gisela and her family moved to Covington from New York back in 2006. She is the wife of Lieutenant Juan Roldan of the Covington Division of Police. They recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary and share 5 beautiful children together: Kimberly, Juan Jr., Jordan, Joshua and Jacob Roldan. They are also grandparents to 5 wonderful grandsons: Mason, Milo, Manning, Mavi and Luka.
Gisela and the girls of the Treasurer’s Office (Deputy Treasurers Janie Fridley and Jennifer Parris) are currently working towards office accreditation with the University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service in conjunction with the Treasurer’s Association of Virginia’s career development program.
By the end of this year, the Deputies will have their mandatory classes completed and Gisela will have completed five of the eight mandatory classes needed, as well as three elective classes.
