Linda Jean Dressler

Linda Jean Dressler, a native of Covington, VA, daughter of William and Sallie Dressler, died at her home in Floresville, TX on July 8, 2025, after a short illness. She was 79.

Linda was an avid reader on any subject and was often heard saying, “I just read the most interesting ……” She was a graduate of, Alleghany County HS, Mount Holyoke College, and VCU master’s program in Social Work. She spent 53 years in administrating and working in social work.

She will be remembered for her intellect, quick wit, friendliness, and kindness. Linda is survived by her husband, Chuck Walls; sister, Sandra Dressler Carter (Currie); brother, Bill Dressler, Jr. (Patricia); nephews, Russ Curfman (Chris), Trey Dressler (Susan), Ethan Dressler, and great nieces, Emme Dressler, and Anna Germano.

Services will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to TLT Hope, (San Antonio) Alleghany Colts Alumni Association, P.O. Box 392 Clifton Forge, Va. 24422 or a charity of your choice.
