LOW MOOR, Va. (VR) – It was a tough day on the courts for the Alleghany Cougars girls’ tennis team, who fell 1-8 to a strong Radford squad on Monday afternoon. But while the final score wasn’t in their favor, the Cougars are still standing tall with a 6-6 record and a fire that hasn’t gone out.
From the very first serve, Alleghany showed fight. Radford, known for their consistency and court control, tested the Cougars with deep returns and sharp net play—but Alleghany didn’t back down. Every point was earned, every game a battle.
With only a few matches left in the regular season, the Cougars are ready to shake off the loss and get back to what they do best—competing with heart. The girls will travel to Patrick County on Friday.
