COVINGTON, VA. (VR) – LET’S GO! The Covington Middle School girls soccer team just wrapped up their INAUGURAL season — and they went out in style with a HUGE 3-2 win over Radford on Monday night! It was intense, it was awesome, and it was the perfect way to finish a season that no one will forget.

Emeri Brown went full BEAST MODE, scoring her final hat trick of the season — that’s THREE goals in one game! She couldn’t be stopped! And Marley Aragones? She was an absolute WALL in goal with 11 amazing saves. Radford tried everything, but Marley shut them down!

This squad started as a brand-new team, and now they’ve made a name for themselves with a strong 5-5-1 season. That’s right — they’re just getting started!

Coach Carlee Lanford couldn’t be prouder, saying, “I was blessed with a great group of girls who show sportsmanship, have each other’s backs, and are always ready to put in the work. I’m so proud of them and super excited for the future!”

We’re saying goodbye to some awesome teammates — Skylar Downer, Kristen Bradberry, and Addy Carter — as they head to high school, but their legacy is strong. They helped build something special.
