Dear Editor,
KAKITOCRACY, my ‘vocabulary word of the month’. Defined as “Government by the least qualified or most unscrupulous citizens.”
Examples: Cabinet members appointed on the basis of fealty to Trump and big buck contributions, despite clear lack of experience, expertise and espousing “alternative facts” or outright debunked conspiracy theories.
“All hat, no data” claims of “fraud, waste and abuse”, gaslighting us after firing the Inspector Generals who actually have the training, experience and track record to work effectively on these issues.
Ignorant D.O.G.E. minions, clueless about the essential services government agencies & experts provide, breaking agencies, firing essential staff then attempting to put things back together… or not.
Just now??? Waltz, Hegseth, Gabbard…essentially the heads of the entire US security team caught out using an unsecured commercial chat app to discuss details of a military operation, carelessly adding the Atlantic magazine’s editor-in-chief to the chat group. Talk about gaslighting! “Shoot the messenger, lie under oath, nothing to see here.”
Add your own examples to the list, there are too many to fit in one letter to the editor.
