LOW MOOR, VA. (VR) – In a thrilling home match, the Alleghany girls tennis team pulled off a significant 6-3 win over a tough Staunton squad. The victory marked a major bounce-back performance after a challenging loss the previous day, with the team showcasing resilience and determination. In singles play, lady Cougars dominated with standout performances from several players. Alayla Morgan and Emma Nicely each earned impressive 8-point victories. Kara and Emma, Nicely showed their prowess on the court, with both securing 8-point victories, along with Mylee Dunbar, who also claimed an 8 in her singles contest.

The doubles teams were equally impressive, Rider and Wills teamed up for a stellar 8-point win, while Emma and Kara Nicely wrapped up the doubles action with a convincing 8-point victory.

Coach Katie Hinkle praised her team’s performance, emphasizing the strength of their singles matches despite yesterday’s tough loss. “The girls played exceptionally well today,” said Hinkle.
