COVINGTON, Va.(VR) – A grief support session sponsored by ConnectionPlus Health Care + Hospice will be held in the Educational Wing of First Christian Church at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Bill Gilliland, area minister and hospice chaplain/grief counselor will facilitate the session.
Anyone going through the grief journey is welcome and urged to attend. Thoughts and discussion for the evening will center around the topic of “Dispelling Misconceptions About Grief” from Dr.Alan Wolfelt’s book “Understanding Your Grief.”
“There are many misconceptions about grief that deny people the right to hurt and authentically express their grief.” Gilliland said. “They often cause unrealistic expectations about the grief experience, and they often cause folk to doubt or judge themselves unfairly.”
First Christian Church is located at 231 E. Fudge Street with plenty of parking in the rear.
Those attending should enter through the double Family Life Center doors and follow the signs.
