Robin Downey Rickett
Mrs. Robin Downey Rickett, age 68, of Covington, died Thursday, February 13, 2025, at her residence. She was the wife of Carey Anthony Rickett to whom she was married to for fifty-one years.
Mrs. Rickett was born February 9, 1957, in Clifton Forge, the daughter of the late Roscoe Hubbard and Dorothy Payne Downey. She had been employed as a clerk by Covington Farm and Fuel for a number of years before her retirement.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rickett is survived by her son, Carey Rickett, Jr. and wife, Aimee of Covington; two sisters, Roxie Downey of Covington and Mary Jane Anderson and husband, Kevin of Fincastle; a brother-in-law, Mark Alan Rickett of Covington; four sisters-in-law, Mary Janet Rickett of Albany, GA, Jill Michelle Rickett Burks and husband, L.C. of Covington, Lori Jeannie Rickett McCormick of Covington, Mary Brady Rickett of Roanoke; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rickett was preceded in death by her brother, Roscoe H. Downey, Jr. and two sisters, Margaret “Carol” Clark and Nancy Little; two brothers-in-law, Adonis Ray “Ricky” Rickett and Daniel McCormick; and a sister-in-law, Dawn Rickett.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
