With the Inauguration of President Donald Trump on Monday, House Republicans are hard at work advancing legislation that delivers on the Trump agenda and serves the American people. I’ve reintroduced eight bills so far in the new 119th Congress, several of which are aimed at curbing reckless DEI initiatives and cutting unnecessary red tape. We’ve already passed two crucial pieces of legislation in the House: the Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act and the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, both vital for ensuring the safety and security of all women. We also took time to celebrate the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the profound impact of his dream on all Americans today. I’m looking forward to the opportunity presented by GOP control of the Senate, House, and Presidency in advancing common-sense policies that will put our Nation back on the right course.
A New Day in America
Yesterday, we witnessed a historic moment with the inauguration of President Trump. It truly is a New Day in America. House Republicans are ready to roll up our sleeves and work alongside our President to deliver on the mandate the American people have provided. We are focused on restoring America by lowering costs for families, securing our borders, achieving energy independence, and making our country respected once again on the world stage.
The Left’s distorted reality is behind us—Republicans are here to end the madness and bring about the common-sense solutions that our Nation needs. It’s time to get to work and make America great again.
Back to Work
As we continue the beginning of the 119th Congress, I will continue to fight for the best interests of folks from Virginia’s Sixth District and the American people. I am proud to introduce eight key bills on Day One that aim to streamline government operations, eliminate inefficiencies, support small businesses, and ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.
Among these, the One Agency Act seeks to consolidate federal antitrust enforcement within the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, enhancing consumer protection while simplifying oversight. The Small Business Regulatory Reform Act aims to cut red tape for entrepreneurs, ensuring that regulatory costs imposed on small businesses remain at zero or below. The No Welfare for the Wealthy Act addresses SNAP loopholes, targeting waste, fraud, and abuse within the food stamp program.
To strengthen our national security, the Protecting America from Spies Act empowers the Department of State to deny visas to individuals suspected of espionage or intellectual property theft against the United States. The End UN Censorship Act prohibits the use of U.S. taxpayer funds for the United Nations Development Programme’s iVerify initiative. Finally, the Ensuring Accountability in Agency Rulemaking Act clarifies the legality of rules issued by federal agencies, promoting greater accountability in Washington.
Rest assured; I will continue to work with my Washington colleagues to pursue common-sense policies.
Protecting Women
Last week, House Republicans advanced two crucial bills to protect American women: the Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act and the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. Both prioritize safety and fairness for women nationwide.
We will not allow the radical Left to erase women’s hard-won achievements. It’s simple: biological males should not compete in women’s sports. That’s why we passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act which ensures gender is based on reproductive biology and genetics under Title IX, prohibits males identifying as women from competing in women’s sports with federal funding, and ensures women and girls’ fair competition in sports events.
Meanwhile, Biden’s open-border policies have allowed dangerous criminals into our country, leading to devastating tragedies for women like Rachel Morin, Laken Riley, and Jocelyn Nungaray. The Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act creates grounds to deport illegal immigrants convicted of sex offenses, ensuring these predators have no place in America. House Republicans will continue to stand by women, ensuring their safety in our communities.
Celebrating Martin Luther King Day
Yesterday, we honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His steadfast resolve to confront injustice and inequality will leave a profound and lasting impact on our Nation.
