COVINGTON, Va (VR)- In local hardwood action on Monday night, the Cougar boy’s basketball team hosted Stuarts Draft. The JV boys won 41-30, Buddy White scored 13 points, Trevor Jones with 9, Kenton Kirby and Ayven Warren tied with 5. The Varsity team also won 49-39, Chase Depriest scored a total of 13 points, Eli Entsminger with 12, Xzavier Hayslett 9 points.
The girl’s basketball team was on the road at Stuarts Draft, both teams fell short, JV score 21-33 and Varsity 28-39.
The varsity boys will be back in action on the road at Floyd County High School on January 3rd against Blacksburg, tip off at 1:30.
The lady Cougars will host Carroll County on January 6th, JV tip off at 5:30, varsity at 7:00.
