Jean Taylor Clemons
Jean Taylor Clemons, 93, of Covington, went to her heavenly home to be with her husband Jim, on Monday, December 9, 2024.
She was born February 1, 1931 in Seaford, Delaware, a daughter of the late Oliver and Clara Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her special husband Jim Clemons; four brothers, Oliver, Frank, Bill, and Paul; three sisters Ruth, Isabelle and Betty; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Jones and Pat Buttner.
She is survived by her daughter, Mickey Floyd and her husband, R.L.; one son, Eddy Clemons and his wife, Terry; grandchildren, Robby, Heather (Mike), Nicole and Brian; a great- granddaughter, Dakota; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew Johnny and a special niece, Pee Wee; special care angels, Krista, Schuyler, Crystal, Susanne, Dianna, Charlene and Meg; and a special nurse, Tracy Paxton. She loved all of her fur grand babies as well.
Mrs. Clemons was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was a very special wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law and loved her many friends. She was a former employee of Jane Colby, T&E Wholesale Outlet and Clemons Tire and Auto center. She worked until she was 89 years old.
Jean was very active throughout the years with her family in many activities including fishing, camping, NASCAR racing, working on and owning classic cars. She also enjoyed many years of gardening and canning. Cleaning and taking care of her house and yard was also an important part of her life. Holidays and anytime spent with her family was always extra special. She truly loved her family.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.
Interment will take place in Alleghany Memorial Park.
The family will receive their friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at Arritt Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Ray Lipes, Donnie Morse, Ron Leichter, Mike Persinger, Mark Persinger, and Johnny Jones. Honorary Pallbearer will be Melvin Persinger, Sr.
