AHPS Celebrates American Education Week with Sweet Treats for Transportation and Maintenance Staff

Alleghany Highlands Public School Division transportation and maintenance garage staff received a treat on Nov. 20 when a cake was delivered by Glenn “Chicken Wing” Simmons. The cake was part of AHPS’ celebration of American Education Week Nov. 18-20. From left: Errol Moats, mechanic; Garth Cartwright, bus driver; Simmons, and Bervie Arthur, mechanic. Simmons, a custodian at the central office, is one of the school division’s best-known employees. Cakes were also delivered to AHPS schools in appreciation of all employees and their contributions to educating children. Employees were also treated to pizza. (AHPS Photo)
