All-Region 3C Volleyball Team

LOW MOOR – The All-Region 3C volleyball team was recently announced and featured four Alleghany players – seniors; Kaiya Lian, Bryce Leitch, Laken Tinger, and sophomore Kendra Dressler.
 
Lian and Dressler were both selected to the first team. 
 
Lian finished her senior campaign with team-highs of 410 kills, a staggering 75 aces, and 323 digs.
 
Dressler meanwhile was an assist machine dishing out a team-high 867. Her sophomore campaign also included 60 kills, 60 aces (second on team), and 191 digs.
 
Bryce Leitch and Laken Tingler were both selected with second-team honors.
 
In her final season, Leitch was third on the team with 216 kills, and second in digs with 244, while leading the team in blocks with 44.
 
Tinger was second on the team in kills with 222 along with 37 aces, and 152 digs.
 
Alleghany finished their season with a 24-5 record and were the Three Rivers regular and playoff district champions, while also were the regional runners-up and made it to the Class 3 State quarterfinals.
 
Alliyah McNair from East Rockingham, who was the Valley District Player of the Year, also was named the regional Player of the Year. McNair led the Eagles to a Valley District championship as well as the region’s No. 3 seed where they were upset in the quarterfinals to No. 11 Rockbridge County.
 
Katie Brown was named the regional Coach of the Year. Brown helped guide Liberty Christian Academy to a 24-2 record. The Bulldogs won the Seminole District championship and were the region’s No. 1 overall seed. LCA were upset in the state quarterfinals by eventual state champion Hidden Valley.

Fluvanna County: Jillian Davis, Molly McCall
Liberty Christian Academy: Emily Cook, Evie Ballengee, Kenstin Phelps
Turner Ashby: Reaghan Warner

Alleghany: Bryce Leitch, Laken Tingler
Broadway: Clara Denman
Liberty Christian Academy: Ella Lambert, Meagan Johnson
Rockbridge: Jada Hamilton
Rustburg: Nahla Bigham
Turner Ashby: Bella Schultz, Sarah Hairston
Wilson Memorial: Bree Kindig
