Mr. Jay Preston Lockhart, age 64, of Covington, died Sunday, April 14, 2024, at his residence. He was the husband of Angela Jean “Peanut” Lockhart.
Mr. Lockhart was born July 31, 1959 in Roanoke, the son of C.P. Lockhart and the late Carol Bowen Lockhart. He was formerly employed as a network administrator by Westvaco. Jay was a member of the Covington Masonic Lodge #171 AF &AM where he served the lodge as Worshipful Master in 2021. He was also a member of the Clifton Forge Shrine Club as well as the Roanoke Shrine Club
In addition to his wife, Angela, and father, C.P., Mr. Lockhart is survived by a brother, Jeffrey Lynn Lockhart and wife, Terri, of Wilson, NC; a niece, Graesyn; two nephews, Gunnar and Gage; and a special friend, Mark Cox.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 19, 2024, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Price officiating.
Masonic rites will be conducted by Covington Masonic Lodge #171 AF&AM.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 950 West Faris Rd., Greenville, South Carolina 29605.
