Covington Chief of Police delivers statement

The City of Covington’s Chief of Police delivered a statement this afternoon at 1:30pm at Covington City Hall regarding yesterday’s shooting at Covington Farm and Fuel. The fallen officer passed after an altercation between Toney S. Poulston Jr. and his stepfather, Randall Lee Paxton at Covington Farm & Fuel.

A small gathering, including Mayor Tom Sibold were in attendance.

Afterwards, a procession is scheduled to leave the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke and will head to the Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge.

The public is invited to pay their respect and line the streets, in Clifton Forge around 2:45 – 3:00 p.m.
