Mr. David Lee “Butch” Persinger, age 71, of Covington, died Monday, January 17, 2022, at Alleghany Health and Rehab, Clifton Forge.
Mr. Persinger was born March 12, 1950, in Covington, the son of the late Lelbert Lee Persinger and Virginia Fridley Persinger. Butch served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was employed as a carpenter with Johnson Construction Company before his retirement. In his spare time, Butch enjoyed fishing and listening to music.
Mr. Persinger is survived by a daughter, Terri Lynn Persinger of Stephenson, WV; a grandson, Eli Persinger; a sister, Linda Starke; a nephew, Jay Jay Meadows; a special friend, Scott Armstrong; and a number of cousins.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Persinger was preceded in death by his son, Travis Scott Persinger; a special aunt, Mable Persinger; and a sister, Betty “Sissy” Lewis.
The family wishes to mention and give thanks to Ricky Bradshaw and all the workers from the county garage who helped David with projects around his home and watched out for him.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
The family will receive their friends at 4:00 P.M. Monday, January 24, 2022 at Loving Funeral Home.
