The Covington Cougars (4-7) varsity basketball team, picked up a big road victory on Friday night against the Highland County Rams (2-7) by the final score of 74-53.
The Cougars, were led by Javier Yancey’s game-high 32 points in the win. It was Yancey’s season-high in points for a single game. Yancey dropped 30 points against Galax in the first game of the year.
In the win, the Cougars, also grabbed great production from Levi Dressler, who had 15 points, all coming from his five three-pointers made. While, Hayden Rodgers, added 11 points.
Ethan Moore, led the Rams in scoring with a team-high of 24 points, while teammates, Eli Moore, and Colton Williams each added 10 points.
The Cougars are scheduled to play at Parry McCluer on Tuesday, weather permitting.
