CLIFTON FORGE—The Virginia Opry will begin its 30th performance season by featuring Bill Pinkney’s Original Drifters performing “Be My Valentine Show” on stage at The Historic Masonic Theatre on Sat., Feb. 5, at 7:00 p.m.
Prior to the show, the members of the Drifters and Alfred “Mustard” Dearing, Sr. who will emcee the show will be inducted into The Virginia Opry. Their induction will bring the number of members in The Virginia Opry to 50.
Tickets for the show are $20 to $35 depending upon where the seats are located, and tickets may be reserved by visiting www.historicmasonictheatre.com or by stopping by the ticket booth during hours of operation at 510 Main Street in Clifton Forge. Tickets may be purchased by calling the theatre at (540) 862-5655.
Bill Pinkney’s Drifters have been inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, and their many hits continue to be played on radio stations across America. For example, “White Christmas” is the Drifters’ rendition that is featured in “Home Alone,” the Christmas classic movie.
Also, on Sat. March 26, at 7:00 p.m. at The Historic Masonic Theatre, “Patsy Meets Elvis at The Virginia Opry” will be performed by the World Champion Elvis Tribute Artist Michael Hoover with Denise Glass performing her tribute to Patsy Cline. Tickets are $20-$35 depending upon the seating location
Both performers are award-winning vocalists, and tickets for the show are on sale at The Historic Masonic Theatre where The Virginia Opry made its debut on Oct. 17, 1992. On March 31, 2020, Governor Ralph S. Northam signed “Senate Bill 283” that designates The Virginia Opry as Virginia’s official Opry.
