“We looked at the film against Southwest Virginia, there was stuff that we needed to work on. We started to correct some of the major things with our pick and roll defense, our communication, help-side defense. Our offensive flow was much better. We still have a long way to go, but it was (our teams play) much better than it was against Southwest Virginia”, said head coach, Brandon Garrett on his teams performance in back to back wins.
Going into the second half of both victories, the team held single digit leads before turning up the volume and not only winning by double digits, but also had 40+ point second half’s in those games.
“The main thing, especially Saturday, was executing running our offense and getting guys in the right spot. We’ve been preaching, if you do those things, good things will come out of it”, said Coach Garrett on the teams second half performances.
Up next for the Roadrunners is their home opener against Appalachian Bible College this Thursday.
