Covington Parks and Recreation held its annual Pumpkins in the Park and Mountain Magic Festival “Fall In Our Town” Saturday at the Jackson River Sport Complex. There was a large crowd in attendance. The parks and rec department handed out over 300 pumpkins to the area youth in attendance. There were numerous children’s activities going on games and face painting provided by various clubs at Covington High School, Trunk or Treat hosted by Kars Unlimited and hayrides courtesy of parks and rec staff. Members of the Alleghany Highlands Kiwanis were also on hand to assist. The band Five Shades of Gray from Roanoke provided music into the early evening.
