Teresa Johnson recently celebrated five years of service with Boys Home of Virginia.
She is a lifetime resident of Clifton Forge and has been an educator for 40 years.
Her career with Boys Home began as a part-time tutor in 2016 and she quickly transitioned into her current position of director of education.
Previously, her 35 years in education were spent with the Alleghany County Public Schools.
Johnson is currently completing her doctoral coursework for Education and Leadership Administration at Virginia Tech. She remains active in the community by serving on the boards of the Alleghany Foundation, Clifton Forge Public Library, and Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher Society.
She sees her career with Boys Home as an opportunity to continue to serve the community. It allows her to give back and assist in customizing each child’s educational needs. Johnson says she truly enjoys getting to know the students individually. She believes each has a unique story and delights in watching their growth and progress from their arrival at Boys Home to their departure.
“The Boys Home administration and staff join in congratulating Teresa as she celebrates five years with the organization,” said Donnie Wheatley, executive director of Boys Home of Virginia.
