Dear Editor,
According to a historical study comprised by Alexander Tytler in 1787, a Democratic government is temporary. They last about 200 years. The following failed Democracies ended by the same sequence.
Shall we compose a checklist for the USA and discover whether our society is following the same criteria: from bondage to spiritual faith (England’s governing American which lead to discovering America); from spiritual faith to great courage (Built with God and fought for freedom); from courage to liberty (Independence from England’s rule and our own government based on God’s precepts); from liberty to abundance (God blessed this country richly for our faithfulness); from abundance to selfishness (Is it still the “me” generation?); from selfishness to complacency (When was the last time you voted or spoke out for your rights or for someone else);
from complacency to apathy (Since 1963 when prayer was taken out of schools because of one person’s efforts, we sat back and did nothing.); from apathy to dependence (How many look to the government for sustenance?); From dependence back to bondage (We are losing our rights every day.) — Eventually — dictatorship.
Will the silent majority of church attendees remain silent? Or, will they begin to move out of complacency and apathy to care what is happening to our freedom. Once we might have been able to put some amount of faith in our appointed officials in DC and around the country. However, if one takes the time to really look into the bills before Congress that are being drafted in DC and research what we are told by politicians and TV broadcasters, we might discover the real truth.
It is time for repentance in this country and a turning away from what has been done over the last few decades. We have set back and let tax dollars pay for aborting babies – over 62,000,000. Some Christians have been confused by some of the explanations why abortions (it’s really murder) are necessary. The authority of man has no weight up against what God says. Job 31:15 Did not he who made me in the womb Psalm 22:9 Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast. Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you”
Are we all going to correct the evil of aborting babies, the crisis and abuse at the border, and persecutions allowed and/or caused by our government? We all need to be in the know even if we don’t feel like it. Please don’t depend on the government. Get on your knees and pray for God to change the course of America from its downward spiral. And take part.
Sincerely,
Gwen Vess-Whitmore
