Mr. Randy Alan Knighton Sr., age 53, of Covington, died Friday, October 1, 2021, at Bath Community Hospital, Hot Springs.
Mr. Knighton was born October 9, 1967, in Covington, the son of the late William Ellsworth Knighton and Joyce Clarke Knighton.
A lifetime resident of this community, he served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Randy was employed as a corrections officer by Cold Springs Correctional Unit, retiring after a number of years of service.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. Randy loved watching football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all, he loved watching his grandchildren.
Mr. Knighton is survived by two sons, Randy S. Knighton, Jr., Andrew Z. Knighton and wife, Carrie M. Knighton; a daughter, Kristina N. Knighton and husband, Louis A. Calloway; his girlfriend, Charlene Sass and was like a step-dad to her daughter, Autumn Sass; five grandchildren, Zachariah N. Sutton, Symeng A. Calloway, Amillea S. Knighton, Arabella E. Knighton, Jasper L. Knighton and two unborn grandkids on the way in 2022; a brother, Jason S. Knighton and girlfriend, Connie McLaughlin; a niece, Sierra H. Knighton; two nephews, Tyler S. Knighton and Matthew B. Knighton; and great-nieces, Maddalyn R. Baker, Annika J. Knighton, Piper Enola-Serenity Knighton; great-nephews, Blake I. Knighton, Owen W. Knighton and Zayden E. Phillips along with Cristopher Thompson.
A memorial service was conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from the Chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin “Buddy” Burks officiating.
The family received friends Wednesday afternoon from noon until the time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
