The city of Covington began two new road construction projects on Monday, May 17; a thermal striping project on Carpenter Drive and a re-paving project on Detroit Street.
According to a statement from city officials, “Beginning Monday, May 17, 2021 through Wednesday, May 19, 2021, Route 18 (Carpenter Drive) will be under construction for Thermo Striping. No on-street parking from 6:30 a.m. through 7:30 p.m. Delays should be expected between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. throughout the duration of the project. The completion date for the project is projected to be May 19, 2021, weather permitting.”
A second statement reads: “Beginning Monday, May 17, 2021 through Wednesday, May 19, 2021, Detroit Street in the Idlewild-section of Covington will be under construction for re-paving. This work will include mill and overlay, No on-street parking from 6:30 a.m. through 7:30 p.m. Delays should be expected between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. throughout the duration of the project. Alternative routes avoiding Detroit Street should be utilized during these hours. The completion date for this project is projected to be May 19, 2021, weather permitting.”
