DALEVILLE — Lord Botetourt scored 12 unanswered runs here Friday, beating Alleghany, 12-2, in a five-inning non-district baseball contest.
Jackson Ross had an RBI hit and Hunter DePriest drew a bases loaded walk for the Mountaineers in the top of the first.
But four in the second and six in the fourth were the big innings for the unbeaten Cavaliers (3-0).
The fourth-inning was highlighted by Carson Peggins’ three-run homer.
Owen Prince, winning pitcher Connor Fuhrman and Nathan Prince all had three hits each for Lord Botetourt.
Five different players had one hit apiece for Alleghany — Ross, Connor McPeek, Garrett Via, Luke Stone and Dylan Nicely.
Halen Lowman took the mound loss for the Mountaineers with Stone working one inning of relief.
Alleghany (0-1 Three Rivers District, 0-4 overall) hosted Glenvar on Monday and will play at Casey Field on Wednesday against Covington.
