BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) – Police say a fire that destroyed two buildings in downtown Beckley might have been deliberately set.
Beckley police Capt. Jeff Shumate tells The Register-Herald that several people interviewed by police gave false information. Police have a person of interest but no arrests have been made.
The investigation of the Jan. 2 fire is ongoing.
One building housed three businesses and several law offices. The city owned the other structure, which was vacant.
