Fourth grade students from Millboro Elementary School recently learned about trout anatomy.
Rangers Beth Hawse and John Fury from Douthat State Park led the dissections.
Students enjoyed taking their fish’s insides out and identifying all the organs.
They especially enjoyed removing the lenses from the fish’s eye, thinking about whether the fish was near-sighted or far-sighted.
Fury was also able to help one pair of students remove their fish’s bladder completely intact.
