HOT SPRINGS – Friends of Joe Randozzo are asking that you wear black to “Black Out Leukemia” during Bath County’s final home football game Friday.
Joe was born May 13, 1985 to Joe and Bridgette Randozzo and attended Millboro Elementary School.
He played defensive end and offensive tackle for the Bath County Chargers football team and was a member of the 2001 state championship team. He graduated from BCHS in 2004 with honors in carpentry and an award for excellent attendance.
After graduation, Joe began work at the Bath County Service Authority and was an assistant jayvee football coach.
Joe currently lives in Warm Springs with his wife, Trista Propst Randozzo, and their two year old son, Walker.
On Sept. 1, 2011, Joe was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. He is currently taking his second round of chemotherapy and will be moving to Richmond this winter for a bone marrow transplant.
Charger fans are asked to show their love and support for Joe and his family by “blessing them with a donation” at the gate on Friday to help Joe and Trista offset expenses now and during this move to Richmond.
