Residents Warned Of Raffle Scam

Officers with the Covington Fire Department and Covington Rescue Squad are warning area residents of a raffle scam being conducted in the organizations’ name by an unknown person or persons.

Fire department and rescue squad officials were notified this morning that an individual was attempting to sell fundraising raffle tickets in the Callaghan area.

Area law enforcement has been notified of the scam and residents are warned not to purchase raffle tickets in the name of the Covington Fire Department and Covington Rescue Squad.

Residents are asked to contact their local law enforcement agency if approached about purchasing a raffle ticket.
