FISHERSVILLE – The Covington wrestling team participated in a team dual tournament at Wilson Memorial this past Saturday.

The Cougars posted a 3-2 record on the day, beating Floyd County (48-30), R.E. Lee (42-24) and Western Albemarle (36-33). Covington lost to Central Woodstock (54-30) and Clarke County (64-18).

Heavyweight Jackson Hinkle was the lone Cougar to post a perfect 5-0 day, recording four pins and a win by forfeit, while Charlie Dickson (145) posted a 4-1 record. Dickson’s lone loss on the pay came by pinfall to Lee’s Logan Via.

Hayden Rice (106) and Jorge Diaz (120) also posted 4-1 record on the day for the Cougars.

Covington will be back in action Thursday in a tournament at Patrick Henry at 5:30 p.m.
