CLIFTON FORGE - The seventh annual Art of Chocolate Festival will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Moomaw Center on the campus of Dabney Lancaster Community College.
The festival will benefit educational programs at the Alleghany Highlands Arts & Crafts Center in Clifton Forge.
Festival events will include Roanoke Restaurant Chef Jeffrey Bland, demonstrating chocolate during the festival.
Other events will be a live auction, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., face painting for children by Covington High School art students, cake walks, and vendors selling chocolate products. Chocolate-to-go-plates will also be available for a $5 tasting booklet.
Auction participants must sign up for a number and paddle before the bidding begins. Some of the items offered for bid include – art panels from previous festivals, a one-hour massage courtesy of Jennifer Walton, a picture from Fire & Light Gallery, CDs from harpist Eve Watters, a small hand-painted Native American drum, a hand knitted stuffed owl, a green and white beaded bracelet, a print entitled Ocracoke Dock, a dragon oil candle, and many other unique items.
Attendees can find out who has the best cake, candy, brownie, cookie, pie, cupcake, gourmet or wildcard entry.
