CLIFTON?��FORGE – The Clifton Forge Lions Club held its annual Christmas party Dec. 8 at Scott Hill with 22 members and guests attending.
President Dave Davis presided while Skip McMullan and Betty?��Myles led a group sing. Noel Beach led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and Glen Linthicum gave the evening prayer.
Dinner was prepared and served by club member Ella LeBleu, assisted by Mae Hughes and Denise Feury.
The program was the annual party and Ladies Night.
Entertainment was provided by Biff Downey.
Club business was discussed following the dinner and announcements included:
– An application has been received requesting help getting hearing aids for a county resident. The club voted to contribute funds to help with the purchase.
– McMullen announced the new Lions web site for the Highlands is: www/e-club.org/sites/Clifton Forge. He explained the purpose of the site and how to access it.
– The cub assisted with the lineup of the Clifton Forge Christmas parade Dec. 2.
– Club members have been asked to assist Main Street in preparing breakfast for “Kids Meet Santa” at the Presbyterian church Dec. 10 at 7 a. m.
Downey provided the evening entertainment which consisted of a collection of popular Christmas songs.
Concluding the evening, the attendance drawing was won by Betty Myles and the 50/50 was won by Craig Hudson.
