Today, November 7
CHS Class Of 1960: The Covington High School Class of 1960 will meet Monday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. for dinner at Mountain View Restaurant.

C.F. Woman’s Club: The Clifton Forge Woman’s Club will meet at 13:30 a.m. at the clubhouse on Monday, Nov. 7. Bring non-perishable food items for the C.F. Food Pantry.

Parent Advisory: The AHS Parent Advisory Committee will meet at 5 p.m. in the school library.

Tuesday, November 8
Election Day
Cancer Support Group: The Alleghany Highlands Cancer Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. at the Alleghany Highlands YMCA. Dr. Paul Richards will be the guest speaker. Call Andrea Mundy at 540-774-2716 for more information.

Garden Club: The Jackson River Garden Club will meet at Mallow Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. Items to be judged must be in by 12:30 p.m. Bring materials for workshop.

Wednesday, November 9
Red Hat Belles: The Highlands Red Hat Belles will gather at the Court Street Restaurant in Covington on Wednesday at 1 p.m. for a Dutch treat buffet lunch.

Class of 1956: The Central High School Class of 1956 will meet at Western Sizzlin’ to make plans for an upcoming class reunion. The meeting will be held at 1 p.m.

Stand Down: Stand Down for Homeless Veterans will be held at the Salem Civic Center from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Saturday, November 12
STARS: Appalfolks of America will present STARS at Clifton Middle School’s Gleason Forum Hall at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 in advance, $6 at the door and can be purchased at The Buckhorne Country Store, Heirlooms of Clifton Forge and Shoe Box and Sports Center. Call 862-4502 for more information.

Community Dinner: There will be a community dinner at Emory United Methodist Church from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Deliveries available for shut-ins. Donations accepted to cover costs. Any proceeds will be used to continue the church’s ongoing ministry.

Sunday, November 13
Jewelry Bingo: There will be a Premier Designs Jewelry Bingo at 2 p.m., doors open at 1 p.m., at the Covington Moose Lodge. Proceeds will benefit the Mountainvew Ruritan Club.

Upcoming
Woman’s Club: The Covington Woman’s Club Board of Directors will meet at Granbery UMC Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.
