Janice Wolfe Vanness, 72, of 441 East Madison Street, died, Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem.
She was born June 16, 1939 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late George F. “Jake” and Hazel Bush Wolfe.
Mrs. Vanness was a former employee in the Communications Department for United Airlines and Eastern Airlines in Richmond. She retired from the former Covington Florist.
Janice was a member of the Parrish Court United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Harold Vanness of Covington; three daughters and sons- in- law, Kythryn Vanness of Roanoke, Kammie and Bob Knabenshue of Covington and Annissa and Benjie Vess of Berryville; four grandchildren, Allen Knabenshue; William Knabenshue; Amanda Whetsell and Dylan Vess; four great grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Mundy of Covington and one brother; Larry Wolfe and his wife Sandra of Covington and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Judy Dotson officiating.
The family will receive their friends one hour prior to service time at the Arritt Funeral Home on Saturday.
