Irene P. Bess, 85, of Lexington, Ky., passed away on Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at her residence.
She was born on April 21, 1926, in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late William A. (WA) and Cora Persinger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur W. (Dick) Bess on June 16, 2996; also by three brothers, Everett Persinger of Virginia Beach, Stanford Persinger of Macon, Ga., and Ralph Persinger of Covington; and one sister, Alva L. Nutter of Roanoke.
She is survived by her son, William (Billy) Bess of Seattle, Wash.; one sister, Lelia P. Rutledge of Woodruff, S.C.; and one brother, Clifford Persinger of Covington; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
A private funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Milward Funeral Home with burial at the Lexington Mausoleum in Lexington, Ky.
