Class Reunion: The AHS Class of 2001 will hold its 10-year reunion Aug. 27 and 27. Anyone who is interested in attending may contact alleghany20-01@gmail.com or call 828-367-5529.
Fun Friday: Fun Friday will be held in downtown Clifton Forge with a performance by the band Dog House. Bring chairs or blankets.
Saturday, August 27
Amphitheatre: Dog House will perform at the River Rock Amphitheatre at the Jackson River Sport Complex beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Clean-Up: Historic Masonic Theatre Community Clean-Up Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to prepare for contractors to begin work in the fall. Volunteers must be able to lift heavy objects and climb stairs.
Fridley Reunion: Descendants of Henry and Virginia Carr Fridley and James and Lillian Kitt Fridley will hold a reunion at 1 p.m. at the Sharon Senior Citizen Center. Bring a covered dish.
Amphitheatre: The Announcers Gospel Group will present a program of gospel music at the Douthat State Park Amphitheatre beginning at 7 p.m.
Sunday, August 28
Reunion: The Persinger-Smith reunion will be held at 2 p.m. at the Covington Moose Lodge. Bring covered dish and drinks.
Plecker Reunion: Descendants of Samuel and Elizabeth Plecker will hold a reunion at 1 p.m. at the picnic shelter of Clayton and Jackie Plecker on Riverjack Lane on the Cowpasture River. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Bring covered dish.
