Watts, River Win Region C Golf Championships

DRAPER – Korey Watts shot a 3-under-par 69, winning individual honors and leading James River to the Region C championship at Draper Valley Golf Club Wednesday.

River, who fired a 316, posted a six-shot win over Giles County. Both teams will advance to next week’s Group A state championships at Big Stone Gap.

Covington’s Aaron Boswell led an area contingent of golfers with a 94, while teammates Josh Bush had a 97 and Travis Warlitner shot a 117.

Clay Robertson with a 110 and Josh Chestnut with a 113 represented Bath County.
