Warren “Chuck” Nicely, Jr., 74, of Vinton, died peacefully after a bout with leukemia on September 29, 2012.

Born in Clifton Forge on November 2, 1937, he was the eldest of ten children.

An avid golfer, reader, and woodworker, he retired from Estes Truck Line.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Anne P. Nicely, his four children and their spouses, Joey Nicely of Vinton, Andy and Lisa Nicely of Vinton, Drexan and Terry Hannabass of Goodview, Virginia, Alisha and Richard King of St. Augustine, Florida, and 10 grandchildren as well as one great grandchild. His surviving siblings are Teresa Nicely, Peter J. Nicely, and Victoria Nicely.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at Vinton Baptist Church 11 a.m. Wednesday with Dr. Chris Monroe officiating.

Interment to follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Vinton.

The family requests no flowers but instead encourages memorial contributions be made to Vinton Baptist Church Music Ministries in honor of Warren.
