Mr. Malcolm Ritsch returned today to Bethlehem, Penn., after spending two weeks with his mother, Mrs. Garnett Ritsch on Riverside Avenue.

Today’s Headline: Brinkley Waives Preliminary Hearing.
Robert F. Brinkley of Bacova waived a scheduled preliminary hearing in County Court today on a charge of shooting Lonnie S. Caldwell of Eagle Rock at Sharon Gables Restaurant last Dec. 2.
The Virginia Employment Commission will offer a series of 13 dramatic radio programs over radio station WKEY.

Today’s Headline: Congressman Olin Meets With Clifton Forge Residents.
Discussion relating to local and national issues highlighted a town meeting hosted by Congressman Jim Olin Saturday morning in the Clifton Forge Courthouse.
A vacant four-room frame dwelling on Route 616 in Alleghany County was destroyed by fire Saturday night. The blaze is under investigation by Kevin Nicely, Covington-Alleghany County arson investigator.

Today’s Headline: Four Injured In Wreck On I-64 Wednesday.
Four people were injured Wednesday evening in a two-car accident on Interstate 64 near Low Moor. A car traveling east crossed the median and collided with a westbound Jeep Cherokee at mile marker 21. After the collision, the Jeep overturned several times.
T.S. Monk and his sextet will be on state at Garth Newel Music Center Saturday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m.
