WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – Franklin “Toad” Moran, 78, of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., died Friday evening, Jan. 14, 2011, at White Sulphur Springs Family Care Center, after a brief illness.
Born in White Sulphur Springs, Nov 10, 1932, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Harmon Moran.
“Toad,” as he was affectionately called by all his friends, had recently retired from the housekeeping department at The Greenbrier with 33 years service.
Preceding him in death, other than his parents, were two sisters, Marie Boggs and Gladys Spinks, and two brothers, Jabie Moran and Charles Moran.
Survivors include six nephews, Larry Wakeford, Allen Moran, James Moran, Donald Moran, all of White Sulphur Springs, Martin Moran of Callaghan, and Joseph Moran of Annapolis, Md; and two nieces, Libby Moran Mann of Clifton Forge and Martha Moran Denton of Marietta, Ohio.
In accordance to his wishes, Mr. Moran’s body has been cremated.
A funeral service will be conducted at a later date.
There will be no visitation.
